Matthew Wolmutt - Recovery Assistance Program Coordinator

Matthew Wolmutt has been working with chemically dependent individuals for seven years. Matthew graduated from Augsburg College with a BA in psychology and began his professional career at one of the nation’s premier adolescent treatment centers, the Hazelden Center for Youth and Families (HCYF), in Plymouth, Minnesota.

At HCYF Matthew worked as a chemical dependency technician helping adolescents to come to terms with the often troubling reality of being young and chemically dependant. While working at HCYF, Matthew went on to earn a master’s degree in clinical social work at the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

While at St. Thomas, Matthew interned for several nonprofit agencies as a practicing social worker honing his skills with individuals struggling with chronic relapse and mental illness. After completing his graduate degree Matthew took a job with PRIDE Institute, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the first GLBT inpatient chemical dependency treatment center in the United States.

Matthew brings an extensive education in social work and a breadth of professional experience working with both chemically dependant individuals and the mentally ill to his new position at AIR.
